Ps 3:5 “I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me”.
It’s a hard thing to relax, much less sleep with so many anxieties thrust upon us by the world.Instead of focusing on our problems we need to call out to our Savior for help and trust that He will provide it. When we wake up the next morning it is a testament to God’s protection and care.

The epistle of Jude tells us to “pull them out of the fire”(v.23). The ungodly in Ps 1 are referred to as “chaff”, and are destined for the fire of judgement. The blessed person is to share the source of their blessings (God) to the unbeliever. As Wiersbe says, “God blesses us that we might be a blessing to others. If the blessing stays with us, then the gifts become more important than the Giver, and this is idolatry. We are to become channels of God’s blessing to others. It’s a joy to receive a blessing but an even greater joy is to BE a blessing”.

It’s very interesting that Psalms 1 begins with the word “Blessed”. Who is blessed? The answer is found in the Beatitudes in Matt. 5. The blessed person in Ps. 1:1 avoids the downward spiral of walking, standing and sitting with the ungodly.
This first Psalm shows us a stark contrast between the Godly and the ungodly.LikeLike
